Thank you for visiting our web site.  As founder and pastor of Willis Baptist these last 29 years the Lord has made  very clear to me His vision of our mission here.  That is to give the message of God's saving grace to anyone, and everyone who will hear us.

The word "Pastor" literally means "Shepherd".  God has set "Pastors" or "Shepherds" over His flock, the local Church.  I believe that first of all a Pastor's responsibility is to GUARD his sheep.  A local church should know that the Pastor is watching out for the dangers that threaten the wellbeing of the flock, and the mission of the local Church.  Secondly I believe that it is the Pastor's job to GUIDE the flock.  As a Pastor my job is to seek the Lord's direction for His people that He has entrusted to my care.  The majority of the guidance provided by the Pastor is directly related to preaching and teaching "The whole counsel of God".  Also it may involve counselling, and giving direction in private.  The Bible says that God gave "Gifted men" to the Church for the purpose of edifying the body of Christ.  By God's grace, We will endeavor to please the Lord by shepherding God's flock to the best of our ability here at Willis Baptist Church.

Pastor McKinnies was saved while attending the United Methodost Church in 1959 and found that as he studied the Word of God that he was more in agreement with Baptist doctrine; so he became a Baptist in 1974.  He served as Youth Director of the York Baptist Church from 1975 - 1979.  In October of 1979 he was called of God to start the Willis Baptist Church and has been its only pastor.

Pastor McKinnies has been married for 45 years to his wife Winetta.  They have three grown children.  Brad & his wife Janet have two children and currently attend and serve at Willis Baptist Church.  Becky and her husband Pastor Carl Wood serve in Little River, SC at the Anchor Baptist Church, and they have three children.  RaGina and her husband Tim Johnson have five children and currently serve as Principal and teacher here at the Willis Baptist Academy.
